KEVIN OKWAKO

Consulting and Research Lead

I advise organizations on technology trends and innovations in the food system and how they can scale sustainably.

I believe in Good Work.

Good Work means looking out for the welfare of others and ensuring that no one gets exploited for the benefit of a few. Good Work means building products and services that are considerate of all stakeholders. Good Work means continuously developing one's competencies and capabilities to offer more than is required. Good Work means making the workplace conducive for everyone to learn and grow.

I seek to do Good Work.

With more than a decade of entrepreneurship experience and a successful track record in building a business (Valerie Foods Agency), I have demonstrated my ability to perform in an entrepreneurial atmosphere.
I built multiple work streams in a farmer-focused project (Agripreneur Africa), driving performance management with on-ground partners and setting up and operationalizing robust project management systems and processes; this coupled with high proficiency in stakeholder management.
This project led to my enrolment in the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) in 2016 and the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program in 2017. I had the privilege of training entrepreneurs across Africa at the YALI East Africa program for two cohorts.

Let's do Good Work.

I work with a high sense of responsibility with a commitment to channel my zeal for impact into transformative and measurable outcomes. If this rings true for you, I would love to connect.
My Specialities:
• Project Management (pursuing PMP certification)
• Enterprise Design Thinking (IBM certified)
• Innovation and Scaling (CGIAR certified)
• Sustainable Food Value Chains & Nutrition (FAO certified)
I hold a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nairobi.
